Most dogs do best with a gradual transition over about 10 days: start with 75% of their current food and 25% Otto, move to 50/50 by days 4–6, 25/75 by days 7–9, and 100% Otto from day 10. Healthy adult dogs with strong digestion can often switch straight to 100% raw. Start with a single protein the first week, and feed meals at room temperature rather than cold. Slightly softer stools are normal at first.

Yes. With proper sourcing and handling — exactly what we do — raw food is as safe as, if not safer than, kibble. Dogs have short, highly acidic digestive systems built to handle bacteria, and our raw bones are selected to be the right type and size for safe chewing. Unlike cooked bones, raw bones don't splinter.

Your meals arrive frozen. Keep them in the freezer, then thaw the next serving ahead of time and feed it at room temperature — not cold.

Some freezer space helps, since meals are delivered frozen. If you're short on room, ask about our freezer program — for qualifying households we provide a freezer for program use at no extra cost, along with a 10% discount.

Run empty ottopods through the dishwasher after serving, then set the lid inside the pod — don’t snap it back on. Pods can stay with you for 45 days or more; washing prevents odors, and nesting the lid prevents trapped moisture and mold. Hand them back at your next delivery — we still fully sanitize and reuse them.

Yes — you can add multiple dogs to one household (up to five). Dogs can share the same recipe, or each can have their own; if they eat different recipes, each dog gets its own delivery schedule.
